Is Merit Professional Investigations Licensed and Insured?
Merit Professional Investigations, Georgia License # PDC002956 is licensed by the Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Securities Agency. All MPI field investigators are required to adhere to all state laws and maintain continuing education requirements. Trained field investigators meet the following state eligibility requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, be a citizen of the United States, undergo background check/fingerprinting, and must have completed an approved state required 70-hour basic training course.
We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured in strict compliance with Georgia law.
Our operations are governed by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies (State Licensing Board). We meet all statutory requirements under Georgia Code Title 43, Chapter 38, ensuring our evidence is legally obtained and fully admissible in a court of law.
What is the cost of an investigation?
Factors influencing the cost are the duration of the investigation, the quantity of field investigators required, the technology deployed, the location, and the type of case. MPI assures our clients that after a diligent assessment of your case, we implement a precise, strategic, and targeted surveillance plan with the most cost-effective approach. After you’ve discussed your case with us, MPI offers a Retainer Agreement with Terms of Service, so that you can be confident that there are no surprise charges. MPI values transparency and communication throughout the investigation, and our clients stay well informed.
How often will I be updated during the investigation?
MPI understands clients’ need to be informed of investigative activities. MPI provides daily updates that may be more frequent for the benefit of the case.
Is my personal information and sensitive information in the case kept confidential?
Yes, all personal information and case details are treated with absolute confidentiality and security.
At the end of the investigation, will a court-ready report be available for my Attorney?
Yes, a professionally written court-ready report will be provided in addition to video and photo evidence.
When the investigation is finished, will I receive a refund of any unused Retainer funds?
Yes, MPI refunds any unused portion of the Retainer.
When MPI hires investigators, are individuals with prior Law Enforcement backgrounds given hiring preference?
While law enforcement backgrounds are a positive benefit, private investigations require different skill assets. While law enforcement training is centered around criminal identification, arrest, and prosecution, private investigations involve a broad range of personal and civil case investigations. These types of cases require specialized skills to gather, analyze, and report evidence, oftentimes in a covert manner.
